Discover Figure Drawing: A Beginner’s Guide in Charcoal, with models.
If you’ve ever felt intimidated by drawing the human form, these two welcoming, step-by-step workshops are designed just for you. I break everything down into simple, easy-to-understand shapes, using the soft, forgiving medium of charcoal to build your confidence without any pressure.
In my Male Figure Workshop (26 July), we’ll look at the basic framework of the body, learning how to capture structure, balance, and a sense of weight using simple lines. In the Female Figure Workshop (19 July), we focus on capturing gentle curves and learning how to use soft shadows to make a drawing look three-dimensional.
You will work on large paper, and I will give you plenty of guidance. You’ll quickly learn how to stop overthinking and start seeing the body as a beautiful collection of simple forms.
Workshop includes both Male (26 July) and Female (19 July) models (undressed).
Materials Included:
Easels, boards and clips belong to the studio and will be supplied for your use.
